Sustainable Business Travel Workshop
The Sustainable Business Travel Workshop is a half-day session designed to offer organisations the “core knowledge, skills and confidence” to cut their business travel carbon footprint.
Business travel can be responsible for a large part of an organisation’s carbon footprint, but is often overlooked in favour of other actions. PwC, the professional services firm, reported in 2015 that its business travel remained its single largest generator of carbon emissions, and – as it has continued to reduce its emissions from energy – had grown to represent 70 per cent of its total carbon footprint.
The workshop is aimed at a number of audiences, including sustainability heads, environmental managers, facilities managers, CSR managers, purchasing managers, budget holders and directors.
Topics covered will include:
• how business travel affects your organisation's carbon footprint
• carbon emissions from different travel options
• assessing when travel can be avoided
• technologies for remote meetings
• measuring and evaluating cost and carbon savings
• addressing potential barriers to change
• encouraging behaviour change across the business.
The workshop is suitable for 10-20 participants and will be held at the chosen location of the participating organisation.
